Aligned Values
When sourcing our fabrics we knew what we wanted the best, and there was only one option, the Albini Mill in Italy. The timing for Alder & Green was impeccable as Albini launched the BIOFusion 100% Organic range at the end of 2020. Having worked previously with Albini, we knew they were aligned with our core values:
Quality -With over 140 years experience in creating fabrics, Albini produce the best quality fabrics in the world.
Fairness -All of the cotton sourced for the BIOFusion range is from the U.S.A. and is fully traceable back to the farmers. Albini are a 5th generation family business employing over 1,400 employees with a dedication to the health and welfare of all employees.
Environmental Impact -The Albini Mill is a leader in sustainability. They have 1 wind power plant, 3 photovoltaic plants and 3 hydroelectric plants with the Brebbia production site awarded the ISO 14001:2015 environmental certification.
In 2012, the Albini Group founded Albini Energia, a company created with the objective of protecting the ecosystem, offering advice to external companies and planning sustainable industrial solutions with low environmental impact.
Organic Cotton is a great sustainable fibre choice for a variety of reasons for environmental practices, as well as wearability. To be defined as “organic,” a cotton must come from organic plantations that meet the following requirements:
1. The cultivated land has produced exclusively organic products for the previous three years.
2. The seed is GMO-free and chemical fertilisers, insecticides and pesticides are not used
3. The defoliation is natural
All of our fabric is GOTS certified, ensuring that alongside responsible environmental practice, the farmers and manufacturers in the supply chain are paid fairly and compensated well for their work.
The Albini Group directly manage and control these cotton farms, in collaboration with American growers, with the aim of ensuring full compliance with the law, high quality standards and the traceability of the production chain.
Fully Traceable
BIOFUSION® is a blend of two American organic cottons, specifically Supima®, the finest American Extra-Long Staple cotton, and Upland, a long-staple cotton of the highest quality.
BIOFUSION® is a scientifically traceable organic cotton, thanks to an innovative method based on forensic science. BIOFUSION® cotton is scientifically traceable by Oritain™, a third-party certifier and world leader in using forensic science to prove origin. This ensures the verification of origin at all stages of the production process.

Fabric Choice
We have chosen two core fabrics for our range that we believe are the essentials for the modern man, a Twill and an Oxford.
Twill:A twill is the best all round formal shirt fabric, not too light or see-through like a Poplin but also not heavy or rigid like a Herringbone or heavy Oxford. Twill is the perfect balance and works on it's own or under a suit all year round. Our Twill is a 100 fold 2-Ply cotton yarn.
Oxford:Quite simply, every man needs an oxford shirt. It is the most versatile piece of clothing you will own; casual when tucked out and worn with a pair of jeans, informal when tucked in with with a pair of chinos, and even more formal when worn with a jacket or under a textured suit. Our Oxford is a Royal Oxford and, like our Twill, we believe it is the best option for wearing all year round.
We use only compostable, recycled and recyclable packaging to ensure your shirt arrives in immaculate condition without harming the planet. Our packaging is 100% plastic free.
100% Plastic Free.
We want to ensure your shirt arrives in immaculate condition, as such it is necessary for us to use packaging and supports that will protect and maintain the shape of our collars and fabrics when our garments are packed and shipped.
Our shirt bags are made from compostable potato starch and protect the fabric from stains, dust and wear and tear. Our boards are made from recycled carboard and protect the shape and integrity of the fabric. Our collar inserts are made from recycled cardboard and will ensure your collar is delivered how we designed it - sharp, crisp and well structured.
Even the chord on our swing ticket is recycled....we mean it when we say every detail has been looked at!
